Tata Motors releaser teaser for H2X unveil at Auto Expo 2020
All the brands are gearing up for Auto Expo 2020 and now we have confirmation from Tata Motors that their H2X is scheduled to make its debut at the event.
The brand shared a teaser with its audience via social media confirming the news of the unveiling of this small SUV. The model first made its appearance at the Geneva Motor Show 2019. It is expected that the model will be launched under the name Hornbill sometime around Diwali 2020 for the Indian Market.
The small SUV has several design elements which are similar to that of the Harrier. There is a difference in the platform used though. The Harrier uses OMEGA Arc while the H2X will be using ALFA Arc. The platform which is being used for the H2X is completely new and can support a larger variety of powertrains and styles. Altroz is the first model of Tata based on the ALFA platform. Additionally, the H2X is based on the Impact 2.0 Design Language of Tata Motors.
First, let’s understand the specifications of the engine. The H2X is built with a 1.2litre Petrol engine which is BS6 compliant. This is the same engine which is being used by the Tiago and Tigor. Next, the engine is capable of generating maximum power of 85 PS along with a maximum torque of 114Nm. The transmission options available are 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic. The Diesel engine will not be offered for the H2X since the BS6 compliant Diesel engine will hike up the cost of the model.
The exterior of the model comes with an extremely sleek honeycomb grille, LED DRLs, dual-chamber headlamps, rising window lines, squarish wheel arches, sloping roof line, edgy tail lamps, and rear windshield wiper. Given the external features, the younger generation fans of the brand will surely consider this as a good purchase. Not only are those the only features, but the model also comes with rough-and-tough character lines which gives the SUV-appearance to it.
Now, if the exteriors are super, the interiors will be premium as well. The safety features of this model are being considered superior and one of the USPs of the model. Other features include rear dual airbags, rear parking sensors (extremely important on Indian roads), ABS with EBD, cornering stability program, auto-dimming IRVMs, electric power steering, rear defogger, height-adjustable driver seat, and steering mounted controls. It’s safe to say that this model will definitely be an eye-catcher at the event.
The expected price of the model will be in the ₹5-7.5 lakh range. It’s mostly because the rivals of the model are the Mahindra KUV100 (priced between 4.96 lakhs and 7.76 lakhs), the Renault Kwid Climber and the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso (priced between 3.69 lakhs and 4.91 lakhs), the pricing of the H2X seems to be set perfectly.
