Land Rover launches the facelifted Discovery Sport – Priced at INR 57 lakh
Jaguar Land Rover have announced the launch of the New Model Year 2020 Discovery Sport for India. This SUV is much more modern and practical than the outgoing car.
The model will be offered with the BS6 variant turbocharged Ingenium petrol engine with 183 kW of power. Another variant will be the turbocharged diesel engine with 132 kW of power. The design of this model is well proportioned and superior. The lamps of the model come with LED headlights with Daytime Running and the rear lamps come with LED lights.
The interiors of the model come with a sophisticated design. The model has an elevated level of comfort and great storage space. On top that, the model has a new SportShift gear selector which has been made from responsibly sourced premium materials. Adding to this, there is a panoramic roof and engaging interior elements. The display screen and the centre console of the model create high quality, practical, and sophisticated design. The ionization technology used for Cabin Air enhances the well-being of both passenger and driver.
Not only that, the Discovery Sport has an InControl Touch Pro infotainment system that can support both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are smart settings that understands the driver’s preferences, climate conditions, can change seat positions, and steering wheel positions. Finally, wireless charging is available for the first time along with a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot system. The excellent Meridian™ Audio infotainment system allows the driver to interact with the Discovery Sport from anywhere. On top that, the vehicle’s date can be accessed remotely from anywhere. These include fuel level, window status, emergency call, breakdown facility, etc.
“CLearSight Rear View Mirror” is also available which transforms the rearview mirror into a proper HD video screen. This only takes the touch of a button. Finally, the rear-facing camera feeds data to the mirror which ensures that all views remain unrestricted.
Coming to the platform of the model, it is built on the Premium Transverse Architecture that provides a much better capability. The model is all-wheel drive and has Hill Descent Control which makes the driving experience seem effortless. It helps maintain steady speed even during unsteady conditions. The system works flawlessly when it comes to traction and braking. Finally, the model comes equipped with Torque Vectoring by Braking system which provides maximum control and handling even through the tightest of corners. The model has the leading wading depth of 600mm.
At first, the diesel engine variants will be the only models to be delivered. Deliveries of the petrol variants will commence at later date. And yes, the pricing is interesting!. Prices for the diesel powered are Rs 57.06 lakh for S and Rs 60.89 lakh for the R-Dynamic SE variant respectively. All prices are ex-showroom(of course!). 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport will still be quite an impressive rival to the Mercedes-Benz GLE AND GLC-Class, Porsche Macan, Jeep Grand Cherokee, BMW X3, Audi Q5 and the company’s own, Range ROver Evoque and Jaguar F-Pace.
