Get ready for the 992 Porsche 911 GT3

We now have an official date and consequentially, excitement levels are directly proportionate to its performance figures!

The 992 generation Porsche 911 blew us all away. My mind was especially blown when I saw it on a quarter mile drag strip. That was THE day I knew I wanted to see what the GT3 would be. So, just like me, hardcore fans have been waiting for the new 911 GT3. And unlike Jezza, we can distinguish between the 911’s and a VW Beetle. I know, lame.

The German manufacturer has revealed juicy new info about the next 911. We already spotted the car being put to its paces in August last year and now we have an official launch date. Mark your calendars for February 16th, 2021 at 1930 HRS IST.

According to Porsche, “The first GT model based on the latest generation of the Porsche 911 (992) is all set to launch. A great deal of importance was attached to the transfer of technology from motorsport to the road during its development. The result: significantly improved performance on the circuit and in everyday life.” By the way, this new “car” will redline at 9000RPM, comes with a 4.0 liter naturally aspirated (yummy) flat six producing 500 Porsche horsepower which we all know means something else off paper.

You can catch all the details in a gist about this launch right here or if you’d prefer to grasp the technical details, you can watch live, in German and English, at newstv.porsche.com
