Jaguar Gears Up For The Launch Of I-Pace In India

Exactly a month from today, it'll be a Jaaaaaaag day!

It’s another ‘Jaaaaaaaag’ for the Indian market, albeit this time, it will be the all-electric I-Pace SUV from the British marque that will reach the Indian shores in a month.

Speaking of its potential, and the battery, a 90kWh battery sending power to the two electric motors developing a combined output of 400hp and 696Nm of torque will be responsible for putting the I-Pace to its paces. Jag claims the all-electric SUV that weighs nearly 2.2-tonnes can still manage a 0-100kph time of 4.8sec, and can go until 200kph.

On a single-charge, WLTP certifies the I-Pace of a 470km range, however, the certified range from ARAI is yet to come. To add, Jaguar is keen on offering a complimentary 5-year service package and the same for roadside assistance, in addition to the standard 8-year or 1,60,000km battery warranty. Worry not then, should your Jag break-down, call up Jag, they’ll take care of you.

Variants & Features:

Jaguar will offer the I-pace in three variants – S, SE, top-of-the-line HSE. The base-model will arrive with the diamond-cut 19-inchers, LED headlights and taillights, a full-blown glass-roof, dual touchscreen infotainment system running ‘Pivi Pro’, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ‘InControl’ connected-car tech to name a few.

The situation in the top-spec HSE variant will take things up a notch as the drivers will receive adaptive ‘Matrix’ LED headlights, hands-free boot release, adaptive cruise control, HUD, ‘Windsor’ leather sport seats, a 16-speaker, 825W Meridian sound system, among others. One could even opt for adaptive air suspension, four-zone climate control, an air purifier, a digital rear-view mirror. The list goes on!

How do you charge your I-Pace?

Jaguar has partnered with Tata Power and as a result, will provide appropriate home and office charging solutions. As of now, with Tata already having an EV charging network in India with over 200 stations called the ‘EZ Charge’, the I-Pace owners will be able to access it across 23+ cities. More on this, a 7.4kW AC wall-mounted charger will be provided with the all-electric Jag when one buys it.

As far as the competition goes, the Jaguar I-Pace will battle against Mercedes’ EQC and the soon-to-arrive Audi e-tron.
