New-Generation Hyundai Tuscon Revealed in India! Launch on August 4th

Hyundai has revealed the next generation of the Hyundai Tuscon. To be officially launched on August 4.

Hyundai has revamped the design for the Tuscon and is set to launch next month. Images show the latest geormetric front grille design, which is currently being applied to all upcoming Hyundai vehicles. The Tuscon has a striking new design for the taillights and comes with a panoramic sunroof. The wheelbase has been extended slightly compared to the previous variant, which will also improve legroom for the rear-seating passengers.

   

   

The interiors look airy with white coloured upholstery and a large 10.25″ infotainment display under the mid AC vents. Hyundai also boasts of a first-in-segment Mutli air mode. A plethora of safety features and driver assistance systems have also been introduced in the new car, including level 2 ADAS, with collision avoidance systems. The chassis has also been redesigned on the N3 platform for optimal safety and secure SUV experience.

Under the hood

The new Tuscon will be available with two engine variants, namely the Nu 2.0L Petrol, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and New R 2.0L VGT Diesel, with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The petrol engine will produce 156 ps of power and 192 Nm of torque, whereas the diesel variant will produce 186 ps of power and 416 Nm of torque. Both variants will have AWD with multi-terrain modes (Snow/Mud/Sand) and multi-drive modes (Normal/ Eco/ Sport/ Smart). These will be run by standard 18″ wheels.

The Competition

The expected price of this vehicle is around 23L-28L. It will compete against the Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Tiguan, Citroen C5 Aircross, the Tata Harrier /Safari and the Mahindra XUV700.
