Maruti Suzuki launches the Grand Vitara at a starting price of ₹10.45 lakhs.

The grand Vitara is based on Toyota Hyryder and saw an impressive 55000 bookings during its pre-order duration.

Maruti has finally launched the Grand Vitara at a starting price of ₹10.45 lakhs and with that price the Grand Vitara is all set to be the most expensive offering from Maruti Suzuki. This launch price comes after the company had offered its customers the option to pre-book the Grand Vitara for Rs 11,000. It has seen a stellar response from the customers as it has already crossed 55,000 pre-bookings taking the wait time for the latest Suzuki to 5 and a half months. The final range of the car ex-showroom in Delhi is from Rs 10.45 lakhs to19.65 lakhs. It comes with a 4WD drivetrain as well as a hybrid engine on offer. It is all set to compete with its counterpart from Toyota, the Creta from Hyundai, and the Kia Altos. This segment is one of the hottest segments in automobiles right now and will be surely a tough nut to crack for Maruti Suzuki.

Variants On Offer

Marut has given various variants for the customers to select in the Grand Vitara. There are in total 10 variants to choose from. All the variants come with 6 monotone color options while the top-of-the-line Zeta, Zeta+, Alpha and Alpha+ variants are also available with 3 dual-tone options. The customers will have to shell out an extra Rs 16000 for the dual-tone colors. The Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha variants come under the mid-hybrid category whereas the Zeta+ and Alpha+ are strong hybrids. The grand Vitara will be available exclusively in the Nexa showrooms.

Engine and Specs

Under the hood of the Grand Vitara is the new generation of the long trusted K-series 1.5 liter, Dual Jet VVT engine which produces 101 HP and 138.8 Nm of torque. The power from this engine is transferred to the wheels with either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic torque converter transmission. The mileage of this engine is claimed at 21.11 kmpl for the manual, 21.11 kmpl for the automatic, and 19.38 kmpl for the AWD manual variant.

There is another engine variant called The Grand Vitara Intelligent Electric Hybrid which is a 1.5-liter three-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine producing 91 horsepower and 122 Nm torque. This engine is mated with an electric motor that produces 79 hp and 141 Nm of torque. This motor can power the car alone if the battery is at the higher side of charging. The combined hybrid engine makes 115hp which is sent to an e-CVT gearbox. The claimed mileage of this variant of the Grand Vitara is 27.97 kpl. The Grand Vitara will be the first Maruti Suzuki vehicle in India to feature the Suzuki Allgrip Select which could mean some excellent in off-roading capabilies.

Exteriors

The Grand Vitara stands tall with its SUV stance being clear in the exterior styling. It gets a large hexagonal grill that is surrounded by chrome bits. Above it, there is a thick band of chrome that ends into the headlights. The headlights follow the modern design of cars featuring two led lamps at the top with the main headlamps positioned lower down on the bumper. The top LEDs come in a three-set design which uplifts the exterior even further. All the other elements like the side body panels, the LEDs on the rear, and the tailgate are the same as its sibling, the hyryder.

Interior and Features

Maruti Suzuki has upped its game when it comes to the interior of the Grand Vitara. The quality materials used, both in the dashboard and the seats are of optimum quality and deliver a great experience. The features it comes with include a 9-inch Smart Pro+ display at the center, a Maruti Suzuki first panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree parking camera, ventilated seats at the front, a colored head-up display, wireless charging, and more.

Safety Features

The Grand Vitara is built on the Suzuki TECT platform (Global C-platform) and comes with Nexa Safety Shield. Maruti is confident in the safety of the car and offers various features to prove it. It comes with six airbags (Front, side, and curtain), Hill Descent Control, front and rear disc brakes, 3-Point ELR seat belts, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Hill Hold Assist.
