Today, Audi officially launched the next generation model of the Q3. This premium compact SUV is the best seller of its segment in India and the German brand will look to hold on to that spot with the new model as well. The new Q3 is based on the Volkswagen group’s MQB platform, which has implemented some design changes.
New Design and Interiors
In terms of looks, the model gets a refreshed design of the new LED headlights and taillights and a more sleek front grille. The rest remains the same. However, the SUV has also slightly grown in overall size, mainly in width and length. On the inside, it gets all the modern bells and whistles, like wireless charging, ambient lighting, leatherette seats, the Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus and 6 airbags as standard.
Engine and Powertrain
Discussing about power, the Q3 has always packed a neat punch. The 2L TFSI engine will continue in the new model as well, with the Quattro AWD. The engine will produce 190 hp of power and 320 Nm of torque transmitted through a 7-speed DSG automatic system. Together, the car will be able to deliver a 0-100 kmph time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 222 kmph.
The Q3 will be available in 2 variants- Premium Plus and Technology. The technology trim being the higher variant gets extra features like MMI Navigation Plus and MMI touch and Drive Select, multiple colors for ambient lighting and an improved 10-speaker sound system.
Pricing and Competition
The ex-showroom prices for the new Q3 are Rs 44.89 lakh for the Premium Plus and Rs 50.39 lakh for the Technology variants respectively. For the competition, it stands against the BMW X1, Mercedes GLA and the Volvo XC40.
