Hot launch! – Skoda Octavia RS 245 limited to just 200 units to launch at 2020 Delhi auto expo

Skoda India have officially launched the Octavia RS 245 performance sedan for the Indian market. The rocket ship is limited to just 200 units and packs in 241 HP! This is some serious business lads.

Let’s first get straight to business. The Octavia RS 245 is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 241 BHP @ 5,000-6,700 rpm and 370 Nm @ 1,600-4,300 rpm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission.

And wait, if that’s not enough for you, the car gets 18-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension and a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit with navigation and ambient lighting. The only number that might not impress you is the pricing. The car will be imported as a CBU and hence, will be priced around INR 32 lakh. That’s Audi level, pun intended.

But, hey! Skoda is not launching this new RS 245 as a de-tuned version of the euro-spec model as it did with the RS 230. This is a full blown performance car and the limited availability means Skoda won’t have a problem selling it either. In fact, the previous gen RS 230 had more demand than its supply which must have been re-assurance for Skoda. Way to go Indian buyers!
