Maruti launches Ignis following its debut at Auto Expo

Maruti has launched the upgraded version of the Ignis after its debut at the Auto Expo. Not only has the model been made BS6 compliant, but it has been tweaked in terms of exterior looks as well. These tweaks have assisted in enhancing the crossover appeal of the model. 

 

The exterior of the upgraded version comes with a front fascia which has squared-shaped vents and chrome enhance grilles. The bumper has been redesigned with a much more prominent scuff. The Delta counterpart of the model has been hiked the most in terms of prices since it comes with roof-mounted spoilers, roof fails, and body cladding as well. The rear fascia has been modified from the black bumper insert to a silver faux diffuser. The visual bulk of the bumper is masked by the reflectors as well. 

The interior of the model has been updated as well. This new version comes with an infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay, cloud services, Android Auto, navigation, voice command, and other features. 

As of now, the BS6 compliant engine is a 1.2 liter petrol motor that can dish out a power of 83 hp along with a torque of 113 Nm. There are two transmission systems available: 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic. Apart from these there are no mechanical changes. 

The updated model has been marked up with a margin of at least INR 4k – 6k. This brings the price between ₹4.83 lakhs to ₹7.13lakhs. 

This Ignisis a good model within the hatchback segment and it is expected the model will be able to lure in the audience. Compared to the other models in the segment, it provides value for its price.
