This is the Kia Sorento (official images) – Fortuner rival India bound?
Kia Motors Corporation released the initial official images of the Kia Sorento. This model is expected to make its global appearance at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2020.
The designers of the model took inspiration from the phrase “Refined Boldness”. The exterior of the model has an extremely mature and desirable design. This will come with a V6 engine that powers to a healthy 290 HP. The front is especially smart with LED headlamps and the signature Kia grille. The stance is much more bolder than before too!
The interiors of the model are quite premium for the segment and it comes equipped with an upscale cabin made from premium material. Additionally, the model has the latest infotainment systems, progressive connectivity, and driver assistance.
The system is capable of supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well. There is a Blind Spot Assistance system which detects cars when changing lanes or applying brakes to prevent collision. You may also see the driver info display and infotainment screens are similar to the ones found on the Seltos!
Additionally, a brake support system is available if required. The Brake-Force Distribution and Hill-Start Assist System comes in handy during adventurous road-trips.
While there is no official statement for an India release, we expect it to come to India by the second half of next year when Hyundai would also bring it’s new Santa Fe to India. When launched, both the Santa Fe and Sorento would compete against the likes of the Fortuner, Endeavor, Altiras G4 and MG’s upcoming Gloster.
