The BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition- a charismatic and exclusive new release

BMW launches a special Dark Shadow edition for the X7 crossover.

BMW is taking ‘sheer driving pleasure’ to a whole new level with a striking new release, the Dark Shadow edition for the X7 model. In this edition, the well-known SAV comes with exclusive equipment and uniquely designed interiors+exteriors. All elements of the new edition are characterized by a dark theme. The first thing that will catch your eye is the special paint finish that is done in Frozen Arctic Grey metallic. This also happens to be the first time this particular finish is done on a BMW X model. BMW expects that this particular release will become a ‘collector’s item’.

Veiled in shadows

The new Dark Shadow edition will be produced at the plant in Spartanburg, USA starting from August this year. It will be a limited edition as only about 500 units are expected to be made. This will make it all the more exclusive and increase demand. The BMW X7 edition Dark Shadow is introduced in all the engines offered for the X7 and can be either a 6-seater or 7-seater, so its power output can be estimated to reach 530 bhp. The body is primarily veiled in the special paint finish. Contrastingly, the side window surrounds, the covers of the B and C columns, the exterior mirror bases, the frame and the bars of the BMW kidney grille, the Air Breathers and the tailpipe covers of the exhaust system are all covered in a black chrome,  ‘High Gloss Shadow Line’ finish.

The interiors are nothing less in flair when compared to the outer package. The front row seats are electrically adjustable comfort seats with a memory function, perfect for those with a lavish taste. The interior upholstery is made in BMW Individual Merino leather and a roof liner with elegant Alcantara finish. A Part of the instrument panel and the armrests for the doors are done in Nappa leather and pretty much all of the interior is in the Night Blue/Black shade. The centre console is another special touch with Piano black finish and what seems to be a glass-top gearshift. It also bears the edition logo with the words “Edition Dark Shadow” stamped on it. The centre console may very well be the ribbon on top for this magnificent creation.

The Dark Shadow edition of the X7, which is a big rival of the Merecedes Benz GLS class, will include the M Sports package as part of the equipment. The sports package has larger wheels and a lower ride height. This edition also features unique 22in M light alloy wheels in V-spoke that are embellished in a Jet black matt finish. Additionally, BMW Individual finish variants like Urban Green and Grigio Telesto metallic will be introduced at the time of production and be available for the X6 and X5 as well.
