Bentley unveils the ultimate facelifted Bentayga Speed

Complete with massive power outputs and bold new stylings

Bentley Motors announced the full details for the new Bentayga Speed today, and let’s just say, one should be prepared to have their mind-blown. Bentley’s new SUV will prove to be an extremely empowered rival to others in the market.

Under the hood

The new Bentayga Speed takes performance to a whole new level with its 6.0-litre W12 twin-turbocharged engine. The machine is capable of outputting an enormous 626 bhp and 900 Nm of torque. The car will also be able to complete sprints of 0-100 km/h in just under the 4-second mark, which is not an easy task for any car. It also hits a top speed of 306 km/h, which sets it a class apart in the SUV segment.

The complexity of the W12 layout mechanisms results in better CO2 emmisions and an improved economy.  The Bentayga Speed also comes with with four unique on-road Drive Dynamics modes: Comfort, Sport, Bentley mode with perfectly balanced settings, and a Custom mode for customers  to create their own driving set-up.

Speaking on the occasion, Bentley’s Chairman and Chief Executive, Adrian Hallmark said: “The new Bentayga has already raised the benchmark for luxury SUVs, against which all others are measured. Ahead of the launch of the new Bentayga Hybrid – the world’s only definitive luxury hybrid – in the coming months, it’s important that we still recognise the customer desire for absolute performance. The new Bentayga Speed remains the fastest SUV in the world, but more than that, it’s also the most luxurious version of the new Bentayga – the best of both worlds, the pinnacle.”

Appearance

Some of the tweaks made to upgrade appearance to match the ferocity of the car are dark-tint headlights, body-coloured side skirts, unique front and rear bumpers and a striking, elongated tailgate spoiler, dark-tint radiator and bumper grilles, a unique 22-inch wheel design available in two finishes and Speed signature badging.

The colour ranges max out further than most cars we’ve seen with 17 paint colours and 47 hues in the Extended and Mulliner ranges, and 24 additional duo-tone options. Try that on for customisation.

The interior is just as customisable with colours and leather for the cabin embellished in diamond quilting.

Other features include a high-resolution 10.9-inch touchscreen with next generation Head-Up Display  and connectivity features (Apple and Android). Overall, we can say this powerhouse is well crafted and equipped sufficiently. And of course, it comes with the optional all Black specification, which seems to be the move all SUV manufacturers are employing. The Bentayga Speed will compete with the likes of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and the Range Rover SVAutobiography.
