BMW launches the X7 M50d ‘Dark Shadow’ Edition in India priced at INR 2.02 Cr
This Edition costs roughly Rs. 36 Lacs more than the 'standard' X7 M50d.
Fans of the SUVs, take a seat, for BMW India has got something really special and really expensive for you. Considering how more and more Indians are going gaga over SUVs, it was only fitting for BMW to launch a special edition of its mammoth X7 SUV. And boy-oh-boy doesn’t it look great!
The company says that this special edition will be imported into India as a CBU, and be available in limited numbers only (remind you that only 500 units of this edition will ever be built for the entire world). The deliveries will be based on who has the best luck, and cash lying around, once he/she places the order via BMW’s shop.bmw.in store.
Mr. Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India, says, “The BMW X7 is a statement of the luxury class – the flagship of the X Range. It opens up a brand-new dimension in luxurious driving pleasure and is designed to elevate every moment of the journey. With its unique BMW Individual design and equipment features, the new BMW X7 ‘Dark Shadow’ Edition underlines both the bold appearance and the luxury ambience of our largest SAV (Sports-Activity Vehicle). It serves to enhance its ultra-exclusivity with limited editions of just 500 units worldwide. The precisely coordinated details of the design and features give it the status of a collector’s item. With the BMW X7 ‘Dark Shadow’ Edition, the possibilities are truly limitless.”
Since this ‘Dark Shadow’ Edition is based on the top-spec X7 M50d, mechanically, it stays the same, but it does get some cosmetic upgrades over the regular variant like a Frozen Artic Grey paint scheme from BMW Individual used for the first time in a BMW X model. The interior is finished in night blue/black dual-tone Merino leather upholstery with a large Sky Lounge Panoramic glass sunroof extending till the third row allowing for a sense of spaciousness.
The X7 M50d ‘Dark Shadow’ Edition rolls on the brilliant 22-inch M light-alloy wheels in a V-spoke design with a Jet-Black matt finish. Continuing further, the SUV has 5-zone climate control, soft-close doors, HUD, and a TPMS feature to name a few.
As this Edition has the same mechanical bits as the standard X7 M50d, it is powered by the 3.0L, in-line, 6-cyl, quad-turbo diesel motor pushing out a rather impressive 400hp and 760Nm of torque and comes mated to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport Auto ‘box that sends power to all the four wheels via the xDrive system and a BMW M Sport diff. Oh, this SUV also gets an M Sport exhaust system so, you know it’ll sound good.
The only thing left to see now… is the X7 M50d ‘Dark Shadow’ Edition on the Indian roads.
