Jaguar Land Rover is on a roll in India lately. After updating the Velar and introducing the 2021 Range Rover Sport SVR in India, the TATA owned company has now launched the 2021 Evoque. The updated SUV is available in two trims – the R-Dynamic SE with a Petrol engine and the S with a Diesel unit. The diesel-powered R-Dynamic SE and the petrol-powered S variants have been discontinued. The new Evoque prices now start at ₹64.12 lakh (ex-showroom). The automaker has already commenced the deliveries of the new Land Rover Evoque, and it can also be booked online at the company’s official website.
Range Rover Evoque has always been a head-turner with its unique, modern and sleek design, and the updated 2021 iteration is no different. The new Evoque still got the familiar coupé-like silhouette with the beautiful curvy design language. It gets flush door handles and a slightly redesigned front facia. On the back, the wraparound tail lamps are now sleeker than they were before, and the whole frame sits on 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, the new Evoque now comes with the choice of a new dual-tone interior colourway called Deep Garnet / Ebony that has been introduced for the first time in the model. It is packed with other first-time additions to the updated SUV including the ‘Pivi Pro’, which is Land Rover’s most advanced infotainment system to date and was previously found on its top-of-the-line model only.
The 10-inch touchscreen display at the centre of the dashboard supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SUV now also benefits from features such as 3D Surround Camera Cabin, Air Ionisation with PM2.5 filter and Wireless Device Charging with Phone Signal Booster. The luxury SUV also comes with a virtual assistant and support for OTA updates.
The 2021 Land Rover Evoque still comes with the next-generation four-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine, alongside, the 2.0 I Ingenium petrol engine, which is claimed to offer world-class road performance.
The petrol engine is the same 2.0-litre petrol engine that makes 246.7hp of power and 365Nm of peak torque. This engine is only available in the R-Dynamic SE model and boasts of a 0-100kmph timing of 7.63 seconds and the top speed is capped at 221kmph.
The 2.0-litre diesel engine, however, has been uprated to produce 201hp and 430Nm. This allows the diesel-powered Ranger Rover Evoque to sprint from 0 to 100kmph in 8.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 213kmph. This engine option is only available in the S trim of the vehicle. Transmission duties are taken up by a 9-speed automatic unit in the case of both engines.
The new Range Rover Evoque is a direct challenger to the likes of Volvo XC60 and the Mercedes GLC.
Land Rover India’s product portfolio now includes the Range Rover Evoque (starting at Rs 64.12 Lakh), Discovery Sport (starting at Rs 65.30 Lakh), 2021 Range Rover Velar (starting at Rs 79.87 Lakh), Defender 110 (starting at Rs 83.38 Lakh), Range Rover Sport (starting at Rs 91.27 Lakh), Range Rover (starting at Rs 2.11 Crore) and Range Rover Sport SVR (starting at Rs 2.19 Crore).
