Renault launches a Special Edition Triber celebrating 1 lakh units sold – Starts at INR 7.24 lakh

The Limited Edition is based on the RxT variant which sits right below the top-end trim.

The Renault Triber took almost 2 and a half years to complete this milestone of selling 1 lakh units. As an Indian, it is a moment of pride considering this budget friendly seven seater has a 4-star GNCAP safety rating. It is no longer a mystery that no company needs to sacrifice safety to make budget friendly cars. That’s a shot at Kia, Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki. Especially Maruti Suzuki which has been the people’s car in India for such a long time. One has to note the contribution of the Renault Triber in forcing Kia bringing out the much safer Carens and Maruti expected to have a 5-star rated Baleno launching in a few days.

Talking about the Limited Edition Triber, there isn’t much to talk about. As usual, it has some cosmetic upgrades. Thankfully, Renault has done it much more tastefully than aftermarket ones. It comes with two dual-tone shades – Moonlight Silver with black roof and Cedar Brown with black roof along with new 14″ Alloy wheels called ‘Flex Wheels.’ That naming was not tasteful. Come inside and the Triber Limited Edition gets Akaza fabric upholstery with a new piano black trim for the dash also featuring black interior door handles. Since this is strictly a cosmetic upgrade, no changes appear on the equipment list. But, the Triber’s RxT variant was already pretty feature rich so that is not a bad thing.

Features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, keyless entry and go, LED DRLs, Aircon vents for ALL three rows, digital instrument cluster, powered side mirrors, push-button start/stop, four airbags, reverse parking camera, etc. are already present in the variant. On the mechanical front, it has the same 1.0L 3-cyl petrol with a 5-speed MT or an AMT in this limited edition model.
