Tata launches the new gen Tiago NRG

The facelift version is based on the ongoing model of the Tiago and offers a more rugged styling.

The Tiago NRG is Tata’s version of a Micro-SUV… for now. As Tata Motors readies to launch the HBX, they have launched the updated version of their Tiago NRG. The Tiago NRG has been quite a seller previously and hence the update. This new version is offered with a 1.2L Revotron petrol engine mated to both a manual transmission and an AMT.

The key styling changes on its ‘rugged exterior’ are as follows:

-15-inch Dual Tone Alloy Wheels
-Contrasting Black Roof with Integrated Roof Rails
-Armored Front Cladding
-Unique Squircle (Squarish circles) Wheel Arches & Side Cladding
-Muscular Tailgate Finish
-Rugged Rear Cladding with Satin Skid Plates

The interior changes include a new steering wheel, MID and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatible infotainment display, just like the top spec variants of the facelift Tiago. Moreover, the AC vent surrounds on the corners and the gear surround color are matched to body paint color.

The key new features on offer are:

-Push Button Start with Keyless Entry
-7” Touchscreen Infotainment by Harman
-Rear Parking Camera
-Auto-folding ORVM
-Steering Mounted Controls
-Fully Digital Instrument Cluster

The Tiago NRG is a 4 star GNCAP safety rated vehicle with prices starting at Rs. 6,57,400 for the Manual and Rs. 7,09,400 for the automatic variant. I’d say Tata has done what it always does with pricing, nailed it! The value-for-money aspect with this car will still be the highest as the beefier looks will make it stand close to the likes of Grand i10 NiOS while being significantly cheaper.
