Tesla sold almost 940,000 cars in 2021!

Their quarter-to-quarter sales also saw an increase, beating all expectations by a comfortable margin!

Tesla announced via a press release their sales figures for the final quarter of 2021 and of the entire year as a whole, and the figures are staggering.  Their sales figures in the fourth quarter of 2021 alone were 308,600 cars sold while they managed to produce 305,840 cars in the same timeframe.

Q4 2021

Model 3/Y 292,731 296,850 5%
Total 305,840 308,600 5%

As for the year of 2021 as a whole, they managed to produce a total of 930,422 cars and sold 936,172 cars in the whole year. The Model 3 and Model Y have sold in spades, though that’s not to say that the Model S and Model X haven’t sold well!

2021

Production Deliveries
Model S/X 24,390 24,964
Model 3/Y 906,032 911,208
Total 930,422 936,172

Sales figures and estimates had put the total sales in 2021 to be somewhere around 890,000-900,000, so Tesla has beaten that comfortably. Tesla CEO Elon Musk aims at ramping up these figures though, and has already started progress on it with the construction of the GigaFactory in Texas, and via a tweet he said that it will create at least 120k jobs and will further boost Tesla’s sales.

With the passage of time, the demand for electric vehicles is ever-growing, and Tesla is one of the industry leaders for the same. Tesla’s Roadster and famous CyberTruck are yet to be released, so as time goes on, Tesla should only have more success in the future!
