Skoda has revealed pricing for their newly launched Slavia’s 1.5L TSI engine option. In fact, this comes just 3 days after they revealed prices for the smaller 1.0L engine and with this announcement, the car is ready to shake up the hotly-contested Indian sedan market! I mean when was the last time we saw an actual “hot” variant of mid-size saloon in India?
The 1.5L TSI produces 148HP/250NM of power and is only available in the top-end Style guise with either a manual or an automatic transmission. I can already see a lot of people smiling and thanking Skoda for giving the manual. The feature list for the car is absolutely jam-packed, with multiple connectivity options like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10″ touchscreen infotainment system, sunroof, ventilated seats, digital instrument cluster and more. Safety has also been given an emphasis in the Slavia, with 6 airbags and a whole host of stability features to keep the car going on the right track.
The price chart for the 1.5L TSI is as follows:
- Slavia Style 1.5L TSI MT: Rs 16,19,000
- Slavia Style 1.5L TSI AT: Rs 17,79,000
The only changes between the 1.0L and 1.5L Style variants is the engine then, which sees consistency across the Slavia lineup. With all this on offer, it should stack up pretty well against its chief rivals which are the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and also the soon to be launched VW Virtus, which is built on the same MQB-AO-IN platform as the Slavia.
