Max Verstappen signs bumper deal to stay at Red Bull till 2028 !

In one of the sport's biggest deals, Max has agreed to stay with the popular drinks manufacturer's team for almost as long as his peak career would last.

2021 F1 world champion Max Verstappen has just signed a massive 5-year extension to his contract, which will now see him remain at Red Bull till the end of 2028! This comes off the back of a fantastic 2021 campaign wherein he won the driver’s crown for the first time, coming out on top after a season-long and an extremely hard-fought battle with 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Back before the start of the 2020 season, Max had signed a deal to stay at the team till the end of 2023, which has now been extended to 2028. The deal is also reportedly a very lucrative one for Max, with the monetary value of the deal being well over $40 million each year, which makes this contract signing one of the biggest in F1’s storied history! He is only the second driver to announce a long-term contract this year, the first being McLaren’s Lando Norris who signed a deal to stay with the Woking-based outfit till 2025. Max’s contract, however, is on a whole new level!

Max joined the team back in 2016 and has already spent 6 years with them. Come 2028, Max would’ve spent 13 years at the team- the longest a driver has had a contract with Red Bull in the team’s history! To read more about his Abu Dhabi championship glory, do read more by clicking here.
