Renault India has launched the 2022 Kwid in India today with a starting price of Rs 4.49 lakh. The exterior has been given a slight glow-up with dual-tone features on the front and all around the car, which is available in the Metal Mustard and Ice Cool White colour schemes, while there are two new monotone colours as well in the form of Moonlight Silver and Zanskar Blue.
There is a new variant on offer though, and Renault has called it RXL (O) and it is available with both the 0.8L and 1.0L engine options. This new variant has a few visual add-ons to differentiate it from the other variants, though most of the car remains the same.

On the inside, there is now a new 8″ touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, adjustable ORVMs and more, while on the safety front there is ABS+EBD, overspeed alert, a front seatbelt reminder and also dual airbags standard across the entire range, something which must be appreciated on such a budget car.

The engine options remain the same, though the 1.0L now gets an optional AMT on offer. The rest of the car remains the same base skeleton as the older Kwid, and this mid-life update should certainly boost sales for the car. The Kwid is one of the company’s best-selling cars in India, and with prices starting from Rs 4.5 lakh and going up to 5.8 lakh, it should also be accessible enough for the consumer price-wise!
