Jeep Meridian officially launched! Bookings open from May 1st
Jeep's 3-row version of the Compass finally available for Indian customers and will take on the heavy rivals like Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Mahindra Alturas G4, Skoda Kodiaq and the likes.
Jeep India have officially “unboxed” the boxy 3-row version of their famed Compass SUV in India, the Meridian. With this, Jeep has officially stepped into the big leagues choosing to compete with heavy hitters like the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Mahindra Alturas G4, Skoda Kodiaq and the likes. Toyota’s reliability and low maintenance costs has often been the root cause for such huge demands of the Fortuner and there has not been anything much that could quite take on that big bull SUV. While the Fortuner lacks on the interiors especially the outdated design and cramped inside space, it wins over for being overly reliable thanks to the Toyota badge.
But now, Jeep has forayed into this segment with a comfy 3-row SUV. This one packs the same features, interior design and even exterior design of the Compass along with the legendary Jeep 4×4 system that can literally take this car anywhere. We can’t assure you of the 3rd row comfort just yet so stay tuned for our detailed review via your YouTube channel and the website as well. To know more about the car, click here.
The RHD Meridian is to be manufactured exclusively at Jeep’s Ranjangaon factory near Pune, which will now also serve as their global export hub for the Meridian. Jeep India have claimed an impressive 82 percent localisation with the Meridian so, we can expect the prices to range between Rs. 38-40 lakhs ex-showroom.
