There are five variants on offer, and the prices listed by Mahindra are only valid for the first 25,000 bookings, with bookings to begin on July 30th. The prices of the automatic and 4WD variants will be announced on 21st July, while as we knew from the information Mahindra gave us earlier, the older Scorpio will still be sold as the “Scorpio Classic” in the Indian market. Here’s the full price chart as of now:

The engine on offer is a 2.0L turbo-petrol and a 2.2L diesel, which we are already somewhat familiar with as they are the same ones which have done the duties on the XUV700. The petrol engine has a power output of 197HP/380NM while the diesel has an output of 172HP/400NM. They are mated to automatic and manual transmissions as mentioned above, and come with 3 aptly-named drive modes- Zip, Zap and Zoom! 4WD is available only in the diesel variants, and can be used on mud, snow, sand or normal terrain.
The luxury features continue on the inside, and include dual-zone climate control, a sunroof, wireless mobile phone charger, and Mahindra’s latest AdrenoX system which has the capability of voice commands, and also has what3words navigation system integrated with Alexa, with Mahindra claiming to be the first company in the world to have done so. Apart from this, coffee black leatherette upholstery, Sony 3D speakers, and more all feature on the car.
Available in 5 paint shades- Deep Forest, Napoli Black, Everest White, Red Rage, Dazzling Silver, Royal Gold, and Grand Canyon, the Scorpio-N retains the basic look and grandeur of the Scorpio which we have all become used to, and with it brings a new grille, new and more muscular alloys, more defined wheel arches, vertically-placed tail lights, and overall is bigger than the outgoing model in all aspects. This doesn’t take away safety though- 6 airbags are standard, as are ABS, ESC, and the AdrenoX has a feature wherein it can detect when the driver is drowsy and sends a vibration to the steering, keeping the driver safe.

With all this, the Scorpio-N is certainly slated to sell quite well. Mahindra’s choice to keep selling the older version as the “Scorpio Classic’ is quite an interesting one- let’s see how many sales each version gets. It must be noted that the prices for the automatic and AWD variants are yet to be revealed, so the upper limit for the price might well reach around 21 lakh INR.
