Maruti has started accepting bookings for their premium XL6 MPV, which is a more premium version of the Ertiga but which is built on the exact same platform as it. The Ertiga’s bookings were opened a few days ago, and with this Maruti has two cars in its stable which are soon going to see an update.
The same new 1.5L mild-hybrid engine will feature in the XL6 as it does in the Ertiga, and will be paired with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters. The engine has more power and pep as compared to the outgoing engine, with an estimated gain of 10HP.
On the inside, Maruti’s new 7″ SmartPlay studio will feature, as will new upholstery among other minor changes. The exterior will also see new silver roof rails, bigger alloys with a new design, a new grille and also a few tweaks on the bumper. The rest of the car remains pretty much the same. Pricing should be revealed soon, though we can expect a marginal increase in price at most.
