Aston Martin revealed the beautiful new DBR22 which is based on the old coach-built designs of old sports cars. It is said to have taken inspiration from the likes of the DBR1 or the DB3S. The car was shown at the Monterey Car Week, in California on August 15.
The car, though still at a conceptual stage, looks gorgeous and gives a well deserved tribute to its inspirers. The reveal of the car also marks the 10th anniversary of the Q division of Aston Martin, the bespoke division for ultra-luxury marques. Just like the Vulcan and the Vantage V600, the DBR22 will also be only be produced in limited numbers, exclusively available to certain buyers. These customers will be given an array of options for the material and colors and textures.
Design
The design of the car, though based on old racers, does look modern, and similar to that of the McLaren Elva or the Ferrari Monza SP2. The concept also portrayed new production techniques, like 3D-printing for the sub-frame and carbon-fiber bodywork. It’s the first time Aston Martin has implemented 3D-printing in their production and has addressed to its benefits in increased efficiency and weight-saving. The chassis comes with front and rear shear panels for rigidity along with adaptive dampers for ride refinement and comfort.

Specifications
The car will run on the iconic 5.2L twin-turbo V12, and will sport 21″ 14-spoke alloy wheels. At its peak, the car will be able to produce 715 PS of power and 753 Nm of torque with a top speed of 319 Kmph. It will be able to do a 0-100 in under 4 seconds. The engine will be linked to a 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters for seamless transfer of power.
