BMW’s “first ever” 2-Series Gran Coupé
BMW is bringing out the first-ever Gran Coupe for the 2 series, and it features an elegant design and features like no other.
The Car was earlier premiered on the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2019. The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe features the latest Front-wheel drive an AWD architecture which was also seen on the BMW 1 series. It also packs in an arsenal of technological development including cutting edge chassis technology and innovative systems; the model has benchmark-setting driving dynamics and agility.
It features a Classic Coupe like a silhouette with frameless doors and is 4526mm long and 1800mm wide, with a long slung appearance at 1420mm height. It has a decent boot space of 430 Litres thanks to its 2670mm wheelbase; it has ample amount of space for rear passengers too.
The iconic kidney grille makes a return and is sleeker than before and features a 3d effect on the Msport model with aluminium and satin finish. At the same time, the Sportier M235i xDrive M Performance (That’s a mouthful) gets it’s grille finish in Cerium Grey and features larger intakes. The Car comes with All LED headlights and tail-lamps.
The Car Comes with three engine options – 1 Diesel and two petrol. A 1.5 Litre, three-cylinder mill churning out max 140 HP and 220 NM of Torque, hitting 0-62 miles in 8.7 seconds 2.0-Litre Unit with four cylinders is the chunkiest of the lot, churning out 306 hp and 450 NM of Torque with a little help from BMW’s TwinPower Turbo Technology. It can zoop at 0-62 miles in 4.9 seconds, while the top speed is limited at 155mph. The 2.0-Litre Diesel variant churns out max output of 190 hp and 400nm of Torque, with 0-62 mph taking 7.5 seconds.
The Car sits on 19-inch light allow wheels while it also a features a large panoramic roof.
The Car comes with intelligent all-wheel-drive technology and BMW Performace Control, which can split the power 50:50 if necessary. The Car also features all intelligent systems one might expect from a car in 2020, which includes Lane Assist, Park Assist, Active Cruise Control, to name a few.
Deliveries will start from 14th march with a starting price of £25,815. And with Merc launching their A-class sedan in India, we expect the 2-series gran coupe and the 2-series to make it to India owing to how popular Merc’s CLA has been in India. Stay tuned!
