Today, Nissan premiered their bulky new compact SUV, the Magnite. The name itself is a combo of the words “magnetic” and “ignite”, according to Nissan. The concept SUV will be almost an exact match with the final production model. Categorized as a B-SUV, the Magnite is expected to reach markets in 2021.
A look inside
Though elaborate details are yet to be revealed, you can expect the Magnite to be feature-abundant. To name a few, we have: a pretty spacious cabin, an 8-inch touchscreen mounted up front, 360-degree cameras and obviously- connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The fully digital, 7-inch instrument cluster adds a more polished, futuristic visual. The Magnite will also feature an auto climate control and a steering-integrated cruise control. No doubt the final product will reveal more such features.
On the outside
The SUV sits sturdily with a bulky stance and a wide rear. The front shows-off a polygonal grille with the logo, surrounded by slick looking headlamps and L-shaped DRLs. They’ve added in tough looking front and rear bumpers that look like they can take some impact. The concept shows a popping red body with contrasting black roof and we can expect to see more variant colours soon.
The engine, as with all latest releases, will be BS6 compliant. The 1.0- litre turbocharged petrol engine will produce an estimated 95 hp. The transmission options will include a manual and a CVT auto. More specs will be revealed further, this was just a tease. Amid the corporate drama and COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, Nissan still pulled off some great feats with the upcoming Magnite and Ariya. The two cars will usher in a new era for Nissan, with their sights set on a promising future. The market rivals of the Magnite will most likely be the highly successful Hyundai Venue and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
