The first fully EV from Skoda ‘Enyaq iV’ is all set to debut on September 1st this year in Prague and we are pretty excited about it. This EV which is largely based on the Volkwagen ID.4 concept can rock worlds for the Czech Republic manufacture and can be the most stylish and successful way for Skoda to enter this segment.
Marketing strategies are one of the most important aspects before launching a vehicle and a deciding factor whether it will be a hit or miss. Companies need to keep the customers on their toes and Skoda is trying to do the same by releasing sketches of the EV. They recently released a couple of sketches of the exterior and damn!
The Crossover looks pretty sharp with fine lines and aggressive styling and also looks very futuristic like something just dropped out of ‘Jetsons’. As expected, the dashboard inside the car is dominated by a large 13-inch display, which controls many of the vehicle’s functions. There’s another display for the driver’s instrument cluster, positioned left of the main screen. A total spaceship eh?
For the EV, Skoda will abandon its traditional trim structure and will instead introduce a new Design Selections range, which offers different material and colour choices for the interior. Some of the trims use sustainable materials – one of them, for example, relies on seats made of 40 per cent new wool and bear the Woolmark Company’s seal, while the remaining portion is polyester from recycled PET bottles so now you can also say that your car is literally environmental friendly.

It will be extremely spacious too because of the long wheelbase and also because there is no drivetrain tunnel under the car. Skoda has previously revealed it will be 4648 millimetres (183 inches) long, 1877 millimetres (73.9 inches) wide, and 1618 millimetres (63.7 inches) tall. Much like it’s the case with every single Skoda out there, expect a roomy interior thanks to a 2765 millimetres (108.9 inches) wheelbase. With the rear seats in place, the zero-emissions will have a generous cargo volume of 585 litres (20.6 cubic feet).
There will be a total of five power outputs with three different battery sizes. Simplest and the most efficient of them all will be a rear-wheel-drive variant with a single motor mounted at the back and the 82-kWh battery with enough juice to do 311 miles (500 kilometres) between charges. But if you are an enthusiast who actually wants to ride this like a spaceship then don’t even think twice and just go for the most hardcore version, the Enyaq iV RS which is a dual battery AWD battery setup that will suck on efficiency and lower the range to 286 miles but will also shoot you from 0-100 in 6.2 seconds.
