Kia has revealed the refreshed new Kia Stinger 2021, which at first glance may look duplicated, but there have been notable changes all around. Along with upgraded interiors and better colour schemes, the new Stinger also comes with more customisation options.
A modernized look
The redesigned front now boasts new multifaceted reflector LED headlamps that surround the signature ‘tiger-nose’ grille. These new lamps help give the car a more tech savvy light signature and pull the front appearance together. In addition to this, the new turn signals are made up of 10 individual LED units each, arranged in a grid pattern similar to that of a checkered flag to add a motorsport-ish element.
The new sedan introduces the option of sporty new 18-inch and 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels with geometric design for an increased athletic touch up.
Senior Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design, Karim Habib said: “The Stinger projects an air of elegance and comfort, and also great purpose, for long distance driving. The updated model builds on the svelte gran turismo design we introduced three years ago with modern flair and a subtle hint of aggression to enhance its on-road presence. The interior, too, has been enhanced, and the new design elements and technologies incorporated into the Stinger reconfirm its credentials as the consummate grand tourer.”
Cabin Space
The 5-seater has only made mild changes in the interior, primarily to tech and materials used. This includes a 7.0-inch fully-digital instrument cluster with chrome bezel all around it and an upgraded, powerful new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment and SATNAV with glossy black finish.
The fancy new mood lighting system with up to 64 colours is sure to enhance the driver’s as well the passenger’s experience inside the Stinger.
Conclusion
More specs about performance are yet to be revealed, and the current specs will vary by region. Following the latest trends, Kia has also opted to release an alternative ‘Dark Package’ for the new Stinger that would feature a gloss black diffuser surround, plus a black wide-bore muffler tips. Worlwide markets will also offer the customised interior with Nappa leather upholstery, though the South Korean one will be one level up.
Kia expects the new Stinger to go on sale in the third quarter of 2020, and global markets will follow suit.
