Rolls-Royce Motor Cars announces Anders Warming as its new Director of Design

Changes are aplenty over at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars – a month ago, the luxury carmaker had announced that it will stop selling the Dawn and Wraith models in the States, and we already know that RR is also developing its first-ever EV which shall go by the name of “Silent Shadow”, an electric luxury model which will be based on the Phantom’s architecture, use BMW i7’s motors, and battery tech from Munich’s flagship SUV, the iX.

Just last week the company announced that Anders, the man responsible for designing perhaps the most important model for RR (Silent Shadow), will serve as the successor of Jozef Kabaň, a former Head of Design at Rolls. Warming, who’s just under 50, comes from Warming Design, a company he founded in 2019. Not only this, his prior experience includes almost 20 years in the BMW Group, including Head of Design at MINI and Exterior Chief Designer at BMW. Outside of the BMW Group, Anders has also held various senior positions at VW.

As our Director of Design, he will have a key role in defining our future aesthetic direction and realizing our clients’ dreams and aspirations. Anders joins us as we move forward to full electrification of our brand, which will shape Rolls-Royce for decades to come. He will face the challenge of upholding the fundamental design principles of Sir Henry Royce himself, which have guided us for over 100 years.”

Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior VP, BMW Group Design, commented, “Anders Warming has a proven track record as an extremely creative and passionate designer with a keen eye for detail and craftsmanship and since he has spent most of his career in our design team, I am sure he will integrate very quickly.”

Speaking about his education, Anders Warming graduated in Major Transport Design at the ArtCenter College of Design, Vevey, Switzerland, and Pasadena, USA. On his new role, Warming commented, “It is a tremendous privilege and a humbling experience to be asked to take up this role. I am personally thrilled to be joining Rolls-Royce and am fully committed to the challenges presented by this great and historic brand as it moves into the future.”
