Nissan India released a second image as a teaser for the upcoming 5- seater-B-SUV. According to the plans of the company, this model is set to be launched during the first half of the next year. The code name for this model is EM2 and will be launched for the Indian market during September 2020.
The new teaser image is just of the wrap-around tail light of the car. It is expected that this model will be launched with the contemporary design of the brand. Not only that, the brand is going to launch this model with the new Nissan Intelligent Mobility Theme and connected car features.
Nissan has also claimed that this model will be technologically advanced too. This model is being built for the Indian market and will be manufactured locally. However, there is a possibility certain units will be exported as well. Details regarding the interiors and the mechanical aspects remain scarce but, we expect the company to offer a de-tuned and BS6 compliant version of the diesel and petrol motor setup currently found on the Kicks.
The direct rivals of this model include Mahindra XUV300, Ford Ecosport, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, and the upcoming Kia Sonet. Hence, expect it to be priced at around Rs. 8-12 lakh range.
The Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, Rakesh Srivastava, said “We have embarked on a business strategy to launch at least a new car in India, every year, as we move ahead starting with a compact SUV. We have a winner at hand that would have the strong Nissan SUV DNA. We are a global SUV maker and our next offering will carry the lineage forward to drive a comeback that will pave the way for a strong turnaround.”
