Toyota’s mansion-on-wheels is here! 2023 Sequoia unveiled

This will be the brand's largest SUV and will go on sale in North America starting form next year.

Toyota has taken the wraps off its new Sequoia, which is expected to launch in 2023. The car will be manufactured at the San Antonio plant in the USA, and this will be the first new iteration of the car since the second-gen version was released all the way back in 2008.

The Sequoia will be Toyota’s flagship SUV offering in the US considering how the company doesn’t have any immediate plans to bring the recently-launched Land Cruiser to market there. The Sequoia will be based on the same platform as the Toyota Tundra and the recently launched Lexus LX, and will have the same engine as the Tundra, which produces a whopping 437HP/790NM of power! There are also multiple driving options like 2WD, 4WD, 4WD high, 4WD low and more.

The SUV has an independent front suspension and also has a new electronic power steering system for improved steering feel. The rear suspension is multi-link to allow for a smoother ride, and also has Load-Leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) to allow for towing whatever is desired- be it a trailer, boat or RV the Sequoia can tow it all with its 9,000lb towing capacity! The optional Tow Tech package also helps keep the trailers being towed straight and in line with the car.

The car also has gimmicks and features galore on the inside. A 14″ touchscreen, 12.3″ digital instrument cluster, panoramic moonroof, 14-speaker JBL sound system, heated seats and more all add to the comfort factor of the car. The car rides on 18″ wheels, though this can be upped to 20″ on the optional TRD Sport package.

With all this in mind, it’s safe to say that the best use for a Sequoia is for those who bask in the glory of the outdoors! The colours available for the Sequoia will be White, Wind Chill Pearl, Celestial Silver, Lunar Rock, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Blueprint, Army Green, Midnight Black Metallic, Smoked Mesquite, Supersonic Red and the TRD-exclusive Solar Octane. The car will likely remain a US exclusive, and no pricing has been revealed as of yet.
