Hyundai i20 N Line spied again ahead of launch

India's first REAL hot-hatch!

Hyundai India is looking all set to launch its performance-inspired model for its third-gen i20. The test mule was again spotted on the roads recently. You can thank AutocarIndia for this though! Just like always, Hyundai is the one to initiate a new trend of vehicles in India. This time it is a hot hatch. The i20 N-line.

The i20 N Line was first revealed in the last quarter of 2020. And the test mules have been spotted now and then in 2021, so we can expect a lunch in the second half of this year. The new top of the premium hatchback will be offered with three engine options: a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol.

The India bound new i20 variant is expected to see some visual changes to suit its sports moniker. It will come with updated bumpers, a blackened front grille in a new mesh pattern and an N Line badging. The spotted test mule was also flaunting dual exhaust pipes, so be prepared for a more throatier note. The car will also get the signature N Line treatment of two-tone alloy wheels.

N Line is available in four exterior colours on the international market – Phantom Black, Aurora Grey, Brass and Polar. Inside the cabin we don’t expect any major changes, as the ongoing third-gen i20 was released just a few months back and comes with all the futuristic features you can expect in the range.

Recently, the South Korean carmaker also released the first design sketches of its upcoming three-row SUV, Alcazar, ahead of its global debut scheduled on 6th April 2021. The model will be a 7-seats version of the on-going Creta and will compete with the likes of Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus.
