BMW X3 M launched in India at ₹99.9 lakh

The X3 M offers a more aggressive exterior design over the standard X3, complete with blacked-out bits and sportier bumper designs.

Indians love their SUVs, and it is evident in the way most automakers in the market now offer a greater range of SUVs in their line-up than any other body style. Quite in keeping with that trend, BMW has just launched its X3 M performance SUV in the country.

The X3 M offers a more aggressive exterior design over the standard X3, complete with blacked-out bits and sportier bumper designs. 20-inch alloys now come as standard to finish-off the muscular and sporty look.

The interior isn’t much different than the X3, though there is the “M-Style cockpit design” which features electrically-adjustable sport seats with memory function and an M-specific gauge cluster. The X3 M also gets a panoramic roof and split-folding rear seats in case you wanna zip around the track with your dogs.

The kit features adaptive LED headlights, anti-dazzle interior and exterior mirrors and park assist. Apple Carplay and wireless charging are available but Android Auto is weirdly absent sorry Android fanboys.

The X3 M has a newly developed “Twinpower Turbo’ 3.0-litre inline-six petrol under the bonnet which churns out 480hp and 600Nm of torque, sending it from 0-100kph in 4.2 seconds all the way up to max out at 250kph. BMW say this engine has also been track-tested for cooling and oil-supply systems, though we doubt anybody will actually take this to the track.

The Bavarian automaker’s latest performance SUV puts down that massive power through an xDrive all-wheel-drive system which is rear-biased and features an active rear differential. Gear shifts are taken care of by an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission.

The BMW X3 M comes at a starting price of ₹99.99 lakh.
