Roughly a month ago, CarBuzz discovered a patent from Stellantis for the name ‘Magneto’ – sometime later, it has been brought to our kind attention that the ‘Magneto’ name is, indeed, reserved for Jeep’s upcoming electric concept as the American carmaker confirms that the Magneto concept would make its debut at the 2021 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah.
Jeep says “unbridled fun, open-air freedom, and electric powertrains” will be the theme of this year’s Easter Safari – the reason why the Jeep Safari event means so much to, well, Jeep, is that it is a place where the company usually reveals a range of concept vehicles.
The first of the two images shows a Jeep Wrangler finished in white with the ‘Magneto’ name on the side of its hood. And while the Magneto Concept boasts the traditional Jeep grille, expect the finished version to look different. Hint: it is the all-electric Jeep Wrangler in the picture.
The second image is where the mystery begins – there is a Wrangler finished in orange, but with a lot, and I mean *a lot* of Jeep Performance Parts fitted to it like the brush bar, winch, extra lights, wheels, tyres, and the odd-looking half-doors.
To round off this piece of information, while there is no guarantee that either of the two concept vehicles will ever make it to production, one should remember that the V8-powered Wrangler Rubicon 392 also began its life as a concept…
