The BMW M5 Competition ‘50 Jahre M Edition’: the Sport filled fantasy!

BMW has come up with the 50 Jahre M Edition car, and this time it’s the M5 Competition got the special treatment as the company has begun celebrations to mark 50 years of the M Performance division. BMW has made this move in line with the pledge to launch 10 new special edition products, and the new M5 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition is the 8th out of those to come to the country.

BMW has placed the special edition at Rs 1.8 crore India ex-showroom, that places it above the standard M5 Competition by a margin of Rs 6 lakh. Available as a CBU, BMW has begunt accepting bookings for the limited edition sedan.

Similar to 50 Jahre M Edition cars, the M5 Competition also gets a special ’50 Jahre of M’ badge that uses the blue, purple and red semicircles. The logo is clearly visible on the front, rear, as well as the wheel hub caps. The car has a different Aventurine Red paint scheme while the grille surround, M-specific double bars, the mesh on the gills, mirror caps and the rear spoiler on the boot lid all feature a high-gloss black finish.

Along with thel 50 Jahre M Edition cars, the M5 Competition also gets the special ’50 Jahre of M’ badging that comes in color like blue, purple and red semicircles. The logo is present in the front, rear, as well as the wheel hub caps. The car is available in a fiery Aventurine Red paint scheme while the grille surround, M-specific double bars, the mesh on the gills, mirror caps and the rear spoiler on the boot lid all feature a high-gloss black finish.

The black chrome is used in quad tailpipes, while the brake calipers are painted red. The M5 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition come with  20-inch M jet black alloy wheels. The updates are not only on the looks here, there are some features which are exclusive to this version including soft close doors and a comfort access system that includes keyless entry, automatic locking and the contactless opening of tailgate.

There aren’t any mechanical elements the company has changed in the car. The M5 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition features the same 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that performs duties on the standard version. This engine puts out 625 hp of power and 750 Nm of torque. This helps the sedan accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. The power is transferred to the wheels with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
