Tata has launched the Tigor EV, with an ex-showroom price starting from Rs 11.99 lakh. The car will be available in the usual 3 trim options- the base XE, the mid-level XM and the top-level XZ+. Prices will range between Rs 11.99-13.14 lakh across all the trims, and all 3 variants have a fantastic range of 306km (ARAI certified), which will make it very desirable for daily usage as well!
The car has a fantastic peak power output of 55kW, as well as peak torque of 170NM. The battery pack is also both powerful as well as well-guarded, as it is a 26 kWh liquid-cooled and high-density battery pack, which is also rated IP67, to shield the battery from all sorts of weather conditions!
All 3 variants have a long life, which come with an 8 year or 160,000km warranty. The car also has a decked-out interior, which includes electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, smart key with push button start, portable charging cable, just to name a few.
The car is also very safe, and as we know, Tata doesn’t skimp out on safety like some of it’s competitors. The battery pack casing of the Tigor EV complies with AIS – 048 standard for nail penetration at cell level, and the car is also very accessible, with the ability to charge the car at any valid 15A plug point. The most impressive thing about this car though, for me will be the 4 stars it achieved at the Global NCAP crash test– truly a remarkable stat! Tata is surely onboard with the #SaferCarsForIndia trend, and for that I rate them highly.
With Tata already having over 70% market share in the personal EV sector, Tata’s foray into EV’s is a serious one. The Tigor EV will continue that trend, I’m sure!
