BMW has announced the launch of their 530i M Sport’s Carbon Edition, which can be exclusively pre-ordered by visiting BMW’s official website here. The car will be assembled locally, and has some new features on the exterior, with carbon neatly arranged all around parts of the car.
The car will only be availabe in one paint shade, which is Alpine white. The interior has stayed the same, save for a darker leather tone in the form of perforated Cognac black colour interior which has been done so in order to fit in with the carbon-themed aesthetic of the car.
The exterior is where most of the changes have been made. The kidney grille now has a carbon finish, and so do the 18″ alloys. The front fascia has been given a carbon overhaul in parts as well, and the mirrors and front splitter also get the carbon touch. The rear spoiler has also been given a small hint of carbon. I’m starting to wonder how many times I’ve mentioned carbon by now!
The interior remains the same, which means that a 12.3″ touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will be standard, along with a completely digital instrument cluster, climate control and even a 360 degree camera.
Engine-wise the car embodies the same persona as the normal 530i M Sport variant, which means that the car gets a 2.0L twin-turbo petrol producing (250HP/350NM). There is no diesel variant on offer, and the car will get an 8-speed automatic as standard. 0-100 takes a mere 6.1 seconds!
The car will be pitted against the likes of the E-Class, A6, and the new Volvo S90 as well. It sure looks stunning, though with a bit of a premium price-wise as compared to it’s competitors, sales numbers will be interesting to see!
