Here’s what you should know about our Prime Minister’s new Maybach S 650 Guard!

The car is incredibly safe... as it should be. Oh and it has it's own ventilation system!

PM Modi has upgraded to a new Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Guard, which is one of the safest and most secure production vehicles ever built. To get an idea of how secure it is, imagine a bunker that is used to shield oneself against attacks. Now add wheels and an engine to it, and voila! That’s the simplest way to explain this car.

It isn’t too safe though. It can only withstand 15KG of TNT being detonated around 2m from it, a body shell capable of withstanding armor-piercing rounds and AK47 rounds, a self-sealing fuel tank, suppressed automatic gunfire system, an emergency fresh air system and houses an external remote communications center. With an ERV 2010 rating and being a VR10 protected vehicle, this gets the highest levels of explosive resistance and safety in any production vehicle ever. So yeah, it’s only as safe as a usual nuclear bunker!

Of course being a Maybach, it would be incredibly spacious and luxurious on the inside, with the feature set rumored to include a seat massage, a whole lot of legroom and a communication center, so yeah it’s just slightly better than the usual Ambassador! The tires are also unique, with the ability to run for 30 KM on flat tires, which can be useful when a quick escape needs to be made.

The car’s dimensions are 5,45mm in length, 1,899mm in width and 1,498mm in height with a wheelbase of 3,365mm. 3 such vehicles were ordered by the SPG (Special Protection Group), 2 of which will be decoys, at a price of Rs 12 crore each! With all this armor and nuclear bunker features onboard, it’s an unbelievably heavy car so in terms of the question being “Mileage kitna deti hai?“, this certainly can’t win out! Just imagine the maintenance and fuel costs!
