All new Hyundai Creta launched at ₹10 lakh!

The Hyundai Creta has been India’s top selling SUV for long. Even when it was at the end of it’s cycle, it sold in huge numbers. In fact, Creta isas iconic to Hyundai as the Santro just based on it’s sales figures. Now though, there’s a new one and it crossed 12k bookings before it’s launch! Let’s find out why.

The all new Creta’s booking numbers hit the 12000 mark and Hyundai confirmed that over 50% of it was for the diesel variants. This new Creta follows Hyundai’s global design language or the “sensuous sportiness” thing. The new design, headlamp and tail-lamp clusters and the tech laden interiors make up for a huge hit. Given how much India loved the Seltos, it was a no brainer for Hyundai to imbibe some of those changes to their own car.

On the mechanical front too, there are quite a few updates. Hyundai is now offering 5 New Powertrain Options:

  • 1.5 litre MPi (BS6) Petrol (6MT/ IVT);
  • 1.5 litre U2 CRDi (BS6) Diesel (6MT/ 6AT)
  • 1.4 litre Kappa Turbo GDi (BS6) Petrol (7DCT)

The new line of turbo petrol engines are going to be made available on all of the future vehicles from Hyundai and Kia. And that’s the best part of it all because India will finally see manufacturers competing in the hotter variants of their cars. I can’t wait for the times when we finally have the hot hatch battles in India because it’s about time.

Coming back to the Creta, the interiors are also much more upgraded than before now. Here’s a list of the features:

  • 26.03 cm HD Infotainment with BlueLink
  • 17.78 cm Supervision Cluster with Digital Display
  • Bose Premium Sounds System (8 Speakers)
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
  • Sporty D-Cut Steering
  • Android Auto, Apple car play
  • Auto Healthy Air Purifier
  • Soothing Blue Ambient Lighting
  • Second row with 2 Step Reclining Seat
  • Window Sunshade
  • Seat Headrest Cushion
  • USB Charger, LED Reading Lamps and Centre Armrest
  • BlueLink connected features

Moreover, the new Creta has an impressive 8-speaker Bose premium sound system which is seriously impressive. Tata’s JBL sound system was already a class above so, this Bose system in the Creta is bound to shake your head. The connected features are also very impressive.

Customers can now experience heightened voice enabled functions by just saying ‘Hello Blue Link’ to control essential vehicle features such as Sunroof Open/Close, Seat Ventilation Control, Climate Control -Temperature, Fan Speed control, Wind Direction and Air-intake type control (Fresh/ Circulation), along with in-vehicle assistance like Dial by Number, India’s public holidays information and further more now you can Track Live Cricket Scores, all at the ease of a voice command. This is available both in the manual and automatic variants.

On the safety front, the Creta is pretty well equipped too.

Standard Safety Features:

  • Dual Airbags Driver & Co-Passenger
  • ABS with EBD
  • Rear Parking Sensors
  • Driver and Passenger Seatbelt Reminder with Pretensioner & Load Limiter
  • Emergency Stop Signal

Enhanced Features:

  • 6 Airbags in Top Variant
  • Electronic Stability Control
  • Vehicle Stability Management
  • Hill Start Assist Control
  • Rear Disc Brakes
  • Rear camera with Steering Adaptive Parking Guidelines
  • ISOFIX
  • Burglar Alarm

Hyundai has kept the pricing very aggressive starting at Rs. 9,99,999 for the base E variant. And as always, the car is going to be a blockbuster hit amongst Indian buyers. Not only is the new Creta an appealing option, it now seems to be a perfect family crossover if off-roading is not your goal. Everyday runs and Highway trips in this car are going to be a lot of fun.

The pricing is introductory and will increase after the set number of units are sold out. Although, the fact that some variants are not available in petrol or in diesel or some variants are automatic/manual only is still very much existent!
