Kia has opened bookings for the all-electric EV6 in India, with an upfront token payment of 3 lakh INR needed to reserve the car. Bookings can be made via Kia’s official site, or by visiting any of the 15 specified Kia showrooms all across the country. The car is set to be launched officially on 2nd June.
As the leaked spec sheet told us, the EV6’s range is among the highest in the country with an estimated 528KM of autonomy on a single charge! There will be just one variant available- GT Line, which will be available in an AWD and RWD variant, which produce a power output of 321HP/605NM and 225HP/350NM respectively.
The car’s charging is also set to be one of its key selling points- a 77.4kWh battery pack is onboard which gives the car the claimed 528KM, and what’s more is that with it comes charging capability of 800V with a 350kWh charger, which means that the EV6 could go from 10% to 80% charge in just 18 minutes as per Kia!
On the inside as well, the feature list is quite loaded. A sunroof, Meridian speaker and sound system, driver HUD, drive modes like Sport, Eco and more are complemented by safety and security features like 8 airbags, ADAS, and various assist modes like Safe Exit, Blind Spot Assistance and more.

Expect the EV6 to be expensive, as reports suggest that the car will remain a CBU thanks to the fact that initially only 100 units will reach India. It will compete with the Volvo XC40 Recharge and cousin car Ioniq 5 in India upon launch.
