Volkswagen has finally revealed the pricing for their very highly anticipated Virtus midsize sedan, and prices start from 11.21 lakh INR. It is broadly divided into two trims, namely Dynamic Line and Performance Line. Production and bookings began in late March, and deliveries are expected to start within the coming month as well.
There are 3 variants on offer in Dynamic Line- Comfortline, Highline and Topline while the Performance Line has a single variant called GT Plus. The aforementioned 3 variants get a 1.0L turbo petrol engine, while the GT Plus gets a 1.5L turbo petrol. The 1.0L engines are mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter, while the GT Plus gets a 7-speed DSG.
Built on the now popular MQB-AO-IN platform, the Virtus shares traits with its internal sibling in the form of the Taigun, and also shares most elements with the Skoda Slavia and Kushaq. This sees a new look for the car on the outside with a new front grille, new LED headlamps and DRLs, a wide air dam, 16″ alloys and more which all take inspiration from the Virtus’ premium sibling, the Jetta. The GT gets all-black alloys with red brake calipers to differentiate it from the standard variant.
On the inside, the main difference between the Performance Line and Dynamic Line is in the upholstery colour scheme. The Dynamic Line gets a black and beige colour scheme while the GT trim gets a red and beige palette. There is also a 10″ infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and an 8″ digital instrument cluster. There is also a sunroof, ventilated seats, climate control and segment-topping 521L of bootspace.

On the safety front, the Virtus gets 6 airbags, ABS+EBD, ESC, rear parking camera, hill hold control and also TPMS. The Virtus will give stiff competition to the likes of the Honda City, Skoda Slavia and Hyundai Verna, and to see how VW’s latest offering shapes up against them will be interesting to see.
