The Tucson has been a very highly-anticipated car in India, and the India-bound was even spied on the back of a carrier truck in late December last year. Well, Hyundai has officially confirmed that Tucson will launch in India on July 13th, i.e. 3 weeks from today. Upon launch, it will become the most premium SUV in Hyundai’s lineup with prices also likely being announced soon after.
It seems likely that the Tucson will be powered by a set of 2.0L petrol and diesel engines which are mated to a 6-speed automatic and manual gearbox respectively. Higher variants may also get AWD, though we should get to know the feature list soon.
On the outside, the Tucson has Hyundai’s Parametric design language flowing all through the car. The grille almost seamlessly integrates the headlamps into it, while at the rear the fang or claw-like tail light design is connected by an LED strip which runs across the width of the boot.
On the inside, there are a pair of 10.25″ screens with an all-digital instrument cluster. Also in the feature list is a panoramic sunroof, Hyundai BlueLink, a multi-air ventilation system and more. Upon launch, it will go up against the likes of the C5 Aircross, VW Tiguan and Jeep Compass in India.
