The Toyota Urban Cross Hyryder is the company’s hotly-anticipated July launch, and the company is teasing its features extensively prior to launch. The latest teasers show off connected car tech, 4WD and an automatic gearbox, and reportedly bookings have also started at select Toyota dealerships.
The latest addition is AWD, availability of which is quite rare in this price segment in India. The combination of a self-charging hybrid vehicle with variants having a manual gearbox and 4WD will make it quite popular amongst adventure-loving vehicle enthusiasts in India, and considering how as of now no other vehicle offers these features the Hyryder could well be hitting that sweet spot which the consumers want.
The exterior has also been revealed to quite an extent, though all will be ascertained when the official unveil happens on July 1. What we can be certain about from the teasers is that the front of the car looks quite aggressive, with a large grille and horizontally-placed long headlights.

As for the price, we can expect the car to be priced quite competitively in the ballpark of around 10-11 lakh INR. Its competitors will be the upcoming cousin car in the Maruti Brezza, and with the latest connected car tech onboard it is sure to turn a lot of heads- though competition from the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Brezza and more will be interesting to see.
