Lexus ES 300H facelift launched in India! Starts at ₹59.7 lakhs ex-showroom

Lexus is back with a new launch in the form of the updated ES 300h in India. This unit will be manufactured in India which will place India as the fourth market outside Japan to locally produce Lexus Models. This local production dates back to 2020, and the Japanese automaker has given slight changes to the car from both- the inside and the outside.

Design Changes

Lexus have decided to not make many changes when it comes to the styling and the design of the vehicle. That being said, the 2022 ES 300h features a revised Lexus emblem to give it a new elegant look. It is also equipped with the technology that allows the hands-free opening and closing boot.

Cabin Quality

Like the outside, there are just minor changes in the look and feel in the cabin of the Lexus ES 300h. Notable changes in the cabin include higher number of storage spaces and easier accessibility around the center console. The car is now technologically superior with a dynamic voice recognition that is paired with the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which now come  standard in the car.

What is under the Hood?

The ES 300h has no changes in the powertrain section as it will be powered by a 2.5-litre engine that produces 176bhp and 221 Nm of torque. In order to assist this engine, Lexus has also provided an electric motor that has a power output of 118bhp and 202 Nm of torque. The power generated by these two units is sent to the wheels with the help of a continuously variable transmission (E-CVT).

How much does it cost?

You can buy the ES 300h in two variants called Exquisite and Luxury. Exquisite has been priced at Rs 59.71 lakh and Luxury comes with the price tag of Rs 65.81 lakh (ex-showroom, India). These variants are pricier than their predecessor and will lock horns with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, and the Volvo S90.
