A few cosmetic tweaks aside, the biggest update is under the hood with a new hybrid powertrain added to both cars.

Volvo has launched the facelifted and updated versions of the XC60 and S90 in India, with prices for both cars starting at Rs 61.90 lakh. Both cars have been specced quite similarly, with Volvo integrating Google into both cars and emphasising on their focus on shifting to cleaner energy.

The S90 hybrid was launched last year, while the XC60 was launched just earlier this year. There are tweaks to the exterior of the car, with both cars getting similar updates in the form of new front and rear bumpers, an updated Volvo logo, a new grille with chrome strips and new alloys, all of which seal the deal visually.

The interior has also been spruced up, with a new air purifier inbuilt which displays the air quality via the infotainment screen complete with Bowers and Wilkins speakers in both cars also. Google is built into the car, with Google Maps, Assistant and Google Play as well are all built into the car.

Both cars will replace their older diesel counterparts, and will be the only petrol-hybrid cars in Volvo’s India lineup. Both cars will be powered by a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol along with a 48V starter generator motor, which produce a peak power output of 250HP/350NM. An 8-speed automatic will also be standard across both models.

The S90 and XC60 both will be available in a wide variety of colours as well. The S90 gets Bright Silver, Onyx Black, Denim Blue, Pine Grey and Crystal White as colour options, while the XC60 gets Osmium Grey, Onyx Black, Luminous Sand, Maple Brown, Denim Blue, Pine Grey and Crystal White.

The S90 will rival the 5-series, A6 and E-class, while the XC60 will rival the GLC, X3 and the soon-to-be-updated Q5 as well. Onceboth cars release in their expected date somewhere in November, it’ll be interesting to see how Volvo’s new offerings fare against the competition!
