Honda teases the upcoming Civic Type R from Suzuka racetrack!
With the expected launch in the next few months, be ready for teasers galore!
Honda has uploaded a teaser video of the new Civic Type R doing the rounds of the Suzuka circuit which is the current home of F1 in Japan, with the car hidden under a layer of camouflage. Last year it was confirmed to us that the Civic would stay true to its roots and remain a combustion engine car in this upcoming generation, which is great for all the Type R enthusiasts!
There may be ideas and questions floating around about the specifications of the car, as nothing has been revealed by Honda yet! It is expected however that there will be a bump up in power from the existing model’s 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine which produces 306HP/400NM (approx).
What is most striking about the video apart from the obvious car is the way that the car is able to be bashed around the ferocious Suzuka circuit at high speed! Taking the fearsome 130R and Esses complex at speed is a challenge for the best of cars, so to see the Civic being bashed around it gives car enthusiasts hope that all is not yet lost for the Civic! Hype will remain high (as has always been the case), and with the launch scheduled for later this year as well, so lets wait and see what comes of it.
