Hyundai motor company has recently released new details on the refreshed version of its upcoming i30. The new i30 boasts a new sleeker design with sharper lines accentuating its front facia and will be available on all the three body types – Hatchback, fastback, & Wagon.
The refresh will also feature a 48-volt mild-hybrid option which will increase its fuel efficiency. And while all this is not coming to India, it is an insight towards the future of Hyundai’s design, philosophy and engineering.
A Contemporary Exterior Design.
The new i30 features bold lines while accentuating it’s wide-body and giving it a modern stance. It also gets a sleek headlamp design which is following the design philosophy of contemporary Hyundai. The headlamp features optional multifaceted reflector (MFR) LED technology and new V-shaped signature LED daytime running lights (DRLs).
The rear design also gets an overhaul and looks much more aerodynamic and also boasts sleeker lines. The New i30 line-up will be available with newly designed 16 inch or 17-inch diamond-cut alloys to complete its overall look.
Revitalized Interiors
The overhaul is not just limited to the exteriors but its interiors too where it gets much more. A redesigned dash and it comes with all the bells and whistles that you can think of in a 2020 car. Apart from the new 7-inch digital cluster and 10.25-inch touchscreen on the dash with both Android Auto and Apple Carplay enabled, it also has wireless charging, and for the first time it features Hyundai’s very own bluelink – connected car services. (Ahem, Venue anyone?)
On the safety front, it features Hyundai’s Smartsense advanced safety package which makes i30 much safer than before.
Performance
The new i30 comes equipped with a better powertrain line-up which can cater to different customer needs—starting the line-up is a newly developed 1.5-liter petrol motor with 110 PS, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol variant can also be powered with The 1.0-liter T-GDI petrol engine which churns out 120 PS and will be paired with a new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The 1.0-litre T-GDI engine is now also available with an optional 48-volt Mild Hybrid technology for better fuel efficiency. On the diesel front, it has a 1.6 liter engine churning out 115 PS and is paired with both 6-speed manual transmission or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
48-volt Mild Hybrid technology is also available as an option with the 1.6-liter diesel variant.
But the most exciting of all engine option is the 1.5-litre T-GDI engine with 160 PS, which comes standard with 48-volt Mild Hybrid technology.
But wait, we kept the best news for the last as the Mythical N-line makes a return and will now be available on all three body types, say what! Hyundai might have hit it out of the ballpark with the new i30 and we really hope that it makes its India debut soon (Fingers crossed).
