This is the Tata Gravitas – 7 seater version of Harrier unveiled!

Gravitas is the second vehicle from Tata’s stable built on the OMEGA (Optimal Modular Efficient Global advanced) Architecture. This architecture is derived from Land Rover’s legendary D8 platform and the car features the Impact 2.0 design. This is the car that might take Tata to international standards of SUV design.

The car comes with the same 170PS Kryotec diesel engine powering the BS6 Harrier. It also retains the same front end of the Harrier with a larger set of 18″ alloys. Although, it is yet to be seen whether the model will retain the 18 inch wheels for the India-spec version. The Gravitas on display was essentially the same as the Buzzard showcased before. The interiors of the car are also very similar to the Harrier with changes starting from the middle row. The middle row of the Gravitas will be available either as a captain’s chairs or a bench seat along with 2 additional seats in the 3rd row.

This setup makes the Gravitas a 6 or 7 seater car. The roof has also been raised to accommodate the third row and this has significantly improved the headroom for the middle row of seats as well. And don’t worry, the missing panoramic sunroof will be available when this car launches in 2021. Overall, the design of the car looks very smart. The Gravitas will be available by H1 of FY2021 and it is probable that it will take the baton of the Hexa forward from there on.
