Hyundai’s upcoming 7 seater Alcazar revealed in new 3D renderings
Another week another Alcazar leak, but wait, this one’s the real deal. Oh! and you can thank Hum3D for this!
Well, seems like Hyundai and spy shots have a long history. With the launch date coming nearer we keep seeing new leaked images of the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar every now and then. Only last month, we saw the Alcazar’s leaked interior images. And now we have another exterior body image just before its scheduled global debut on April 6th. But this time it’s no camouflaged test mule spy shot! The upcoming 7 seater SUV from the South Korean manufacturer can be seen in its full glory in these recent 3D images by Hum3D.
Hyundai has been working on the Alcazar for quite some time now and the official teaser sketches were also released recently. While the 3-row “SUV” follows a similar design language to the ongoing Creta model, a few visual readjustments can be seen in these new 3D images. And let me be the first to say Thank God for these changes.
There’s a new redesigned chrome radiator grille although still flanked by those weird headlamps. New front bumper, fog lamps and skid plates can be seen and of course, the Alcazar will be slightly larger than its 5 seater sibling to accommodate 7 people. The alloy wheels will probably come in a bigger size than the Creta’s 17-inch ones.
On the back, the Alcazar gets a reworked rear bumper and *FINALLY* new LED taillights. I hated the Creta’s low slung over-designed tail lamps. It’s like the designer forgot to drop the pen and kept going at it! Now, while the 3D renders don’t show a sunroof, the SUV will definitely be offered with a panoramic one because Indians love a sunroof more than a safety rating. Talking about the engine, the Alcazar could borrow the same engine options from its sibling, Creta i.e. a 1.5-litre 115PS diesel engine and a 1.4-litre 140PS turbo-petrol option. It’s supposed to come with Hyundai’s transmission options of the 6-speed torque converter and/or 7-speed DCT.
On the features front, we expect the new SUV to have all the features of the Creta, to say the least. That will include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and ventilated front seats. We expect it to get some additional features like a 360-degree parking camera, powered tailgate, front parking sensors to beat the competition in the class. Based on the recent official sketches and the earlier leaked interior images, the Alcazar will be offered in both – a 6 and a 7 seater configuration. The 6 seat variant will get captain seats in the middle row, while on the 7 seater it’ll be a bench-style arrangement.
I don’t know about you but this shot from the top makes it look very similar to the Tata Hexa. Especially because of those tail lamps and the straight MPV like rear quarter design. Moreover, the Alcazar seems to have a very small window for the 3rd-row passengers and it could be too much to ask adults to sit in there. Anyway, we believe, Hyundai will be charging an extra 1.5 lakh or so over the Creta for this new offering. The Alcazar will directly rival against the likes of the new Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra’s XUV500 (which is about to get an overall update real soon).
