BREAKING: Albon and Latifi confirmed as 2022 Williams drivers!
The Red Bull development driver has been given the seat for next year alongside the likeable Canadian
Yesterday, I wrote an article on how the Albon to Williams decision had been finalised, and how it would likely be announced today. Like clockwork, its happened. Alex Albon will be driving for Williams in 2022 alongside Nicholas Latifi! The duo have history, having raced together for DAMS in F2 in 2018, so we can expect a strong partnership!
The duo is one of the most likeable on the grid, and have great personalities. Under the helmet, though both are great competitors, and Alex especially is one of the drivers whose performances I will be looking out for, as he is a fantastic driver!

George congratulated Williams and both drivers on this signing, and this is quite honestly the perfect scenario for Williams in my opinion. Both drivers will be key assets to the team, with Albon being the handy and quick driver, while Nicholas keeps the team sustained monetarily while at times also being a strong back-up.
It’s a bit surprising for a Red Bull development driver to have such close ties to a team with a rival power unit, i.e. Mercedes’ pengine in the back of the Williams, though considering Williams’ future prospects, it’s the best possible decision they could’ve made! On to 2022 now.
